The Electronic Journal of Language and Education (EJLE) is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal published annually in September. The journal accepts manuscripts in Turkish and English. Accepted articles are published electronically.
EJLE publishes original scientific research across all subfields of educational sciences and subject-specific education. While maintaining its broad scope within educational sciences, the journal places particular emphasis on the role of language in learning and teaching processes.
Manuscripts submitted to the journal must meet the following requirements:
Be consistent with the journal's aims and scope and make an original scientific contribution.
Not have been previously published in another journal or publication.
Not be under simultaneous consideration by another journal.
Be prepared in accordance with research and publication ethics.
Comply with the current EJLE manuscript template and author guidelines.
Articles derived from postgraduate theses or conference papers that have not been published in full text may be considered for publication, provided that their origins are clearly disclosed and they make an original scientific contribution. Information concerning the thesis or conference from which the manuscript was derived must be communicated to the editorial office during submission.
Submitted manuscripts undergo an initial editorial screening for compliance with the journal's aims and scope, scientific quality, ethical requirements, and formatting guidelines. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision or may not be considered for further evaluation.
EJLE accepts the following types of articles for consideration.
Original Research Articles: Quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods studies conducted within the fields of educational sciences and subject-specific education that present original scientific findings.
Systematic Reviews: Studies that systematically search, select, evaluate, and synthesize relevant scientific literature according to predefined criteria to address a specific research question.
Meta-Analyses: Studies that combine quantitative findings from independent studies addressing a specific research question using appropriate statistical methods.
Systematic reviews and meta-analyses must clearly report their search strategies, inclusion and exclusion criteria, study selection procedures, and analytical methods. Authors are expected to follow relevant international reporting standards, such as PRISMA.
All manuscripts submitted to EJLE must be uploaded through the journal's online manuscript submission system. Submissions via email are not accepted.
Manuscripts must be submitted by the corresponding author, who is responsible for confirming that all authors have approved the submission and that the information entered into the system is accurate.
The following documents and information must be provided during submission:
An anonymized manuscript prepared in accordance with the current EJLE manuscript template, with all information that could reveal the authors' identities removed.
Complete information for all authors, including their names, institutional affiliations, contact details, and ORCID identifiers, entered into the relevant fields of the submission system.
A similarity report for the manuscript.
An ethics committee approval document for studies requiring ethical approval.
Where applicable, permission documents for the use of scales, images, data collection instruments, and other copyrighted materials.
During submission, authors must accurately and completely enter the manuscript title, abstract, keywords, article type, and author information, including the names, institutional affiliations, contact details, and ORCID identifiers of all authors, into the online submission system.
Manuscript submission, uploading of required documents, submission of revisions, and tracking of the manuscript's status are conducted through the online system.

Manuscripts must include titles in both Turkish and English. Titles should accurately, clearly, and concisely reflect the subject and scope of the study.
The Turkish and English titles must be consistent in meaning. Unnecessary abbreviations and overly general expressions that do not adequately reflect the scope of the research should be avoided.
Manuscripts must include abstracts in both Turkish and English. Each abstract must contain 200–250 words.
Abstracts should present the research aim, methodology, principal findings, and conclusions and highlight the study's scientific contribution. References should be avoided unless strictly necessary. Abstracts should not contain undefined abbreviations or information that is not included in the main text.
Each abstract must be followed by 3–5 keywords in the corresponding language. Keywords should reflect the central concepts of the study and be selected in accordance with established scientific terminology in the relevant field.
Authors are responsible for ensuring the grammatical accuracy, correct spelling, and terminological consistency of the titles, abstracts, and keywords in both languages.
Original research articles should generally consist of the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References. Depending on the nature of the research, the Discussion and Conclusion sections may be combined, and recommendations may be presented under a separate heading.
The Introduction should establish the theoretical framework, review the relevant literature, and clearly present the research problem, objectives, and scientific significance of the study.
The Methods section should provide sufficient detail about the research design, study group or sample, data collection instruments, data collection procedures, and data analysis methods to enable evaluation and, where applicable, replication of the study.
Results should be presented systematically in relation to the research questions and interpreted in the Discussion section with reference to the relevant literature. The Conclusion should present the main implications and limitations of the study and, where appropriate, recommendations for future research or educational practice.
Systematic reviews and meta-analyses may follow a section structure appropriate to the nature of the research.
Manuscripts submitted for evaluation must not contain authors' names, academic titles, institutional affiliations, email addresses, or any information that could directly reveal their identities.
Acknowledgments, project information, institutional details, and personal information contained in the document properties that could reveal the authors' identities must be carefully reviewed before submission.
Authors must follow standard academic citation practices when citing their own previous work while avoiding expressions that directly disclose their identities.
Any necessary information removed from the manuscript for anonymization purposes must be provided to the editorial office through the author information form or the online submission system.

Headings within the manuscript must be bold, with the initial letters of words capitalized, and formatted according to the heading structure specified in the journal's manuscript template.
Manuscripts submitted for evaluation must not contain page numbers, headers, or footers.
For studies requiring special characters or fonts, authors must provide the editorial office with any necessary technical information to ensure that the text is displayed correctly.
Manuscripts written in Turkish must follow the current Spelling Guide of the Turkish Language Association (TDK), except where specialized terminology required by the research field applies. Manuscripts written in English must adhere to the conventions of academic English.
All manuscripts must be written in clear, coherent, and precise academic language. Consistency in spelling, punctuation, and terminology must be maintained throughout both Turkish and English texts.
In-text citations and reference lists must be prepared in accordance with APA 7 guidelines. All sources cited in the text must appear in the reference list, and all works included in the reference list must be appropriately cited in the text. Authors must ensure that all bibliographic information, including author names, publication years, titles, publication details, and DOI or URL information, where available, is accurate and complete.
Authors are expected to consult primary sources, use current and relevant scientific literature, and ensure that all citations are directly related to the content of their manuscripts.
Tables, figures, graphs, and illustrations must be prepared in accordance with APA 7 guidelines and the EJLE manuscript template.
Tables and figures must be numbered consecutively, have descriptive titles, and be referred to in the relevant sections of the manuscript. They should avoid unnecessarily repeating information presented in the text and contribute to a clearer understanding of the research findings.
Tables and figures must be legible. Materials reproduced or adapted from other sources must include appropriate source attribution, and the necessary permissions for their use must be obtained.
Manuscripts submitted to EJLE must include complete and accurate declarations concerning the conduct of the research.
Ethics Committee Approval: For studies requiring ethics committee approval, approval must have been obtained before the research commenced. The name of the ethics committee, approval date, and decision number must be stated in the Methods section and on the first or last page of the published article. The relevant approval document must be uploaded to the online submission system.
Author Contributions: For manuscripts with multiple authors, the scientific contributions of each author must be clearly stated. The CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) may be used when preparing author contribution statements.
Funding and Support: If the research was supported by an institution, organization, or research project, the name of the funding body and, where applicable, the project number must be provided. Authors must also explicitly declare when no funding was received.
Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial, institutional, or personal conflicts of interest that could influence the conduct, evaluation, or interpretation of their research. A statement must also be provided when no conflicts of interest exist.
Data Availability: The availability of research data must be disclosed, as appropriate to the nature of the study. Where data cannot be shared for ethical, legal, or confidentiality reasons, the relevant restrictions must be clearly stated.
Use of Artificial Intelligence: If generative artificial intelligence tools have been used in preparing the manuscript for purposes that affect its scientific content, the tools used and their intended purposes must be appropriately disclosed. Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors. Authors bear full responsibility for the accuracy of the scientific content, the reliability of references, and the integrity of the research.
Articles Derived from Theses or Conference Papers: Manuscripts derived from theses or conference papers must explicitly disclose this information and provide the relevant bibliographic details of the thesis or conference.

Manuscripts accepted for publication are published electronically after the necessary language, writing, formatting, and bibliographic checks have been completed.
Published articles must contain the following complete and accurate information:
The article title, abstract, and keywords in both Turkish and English.
The names, institutional affiliations, and ORCID identifiers of all authors.
Contact information for the corresponding author.
Manuscript submission, acceptance, and publication dates.
All required research and publication declarations.
Publication year, issue number, page range, and DOI, where available.
Authors are responsible for carefully reviewing the final version of their manuscript before publication, including author information, titles, abstracts, tables, figures, and references.
Substantial revisions that would alter the scientific content of the manuscript are not permitted during the final proofreading stage. Any necessary scientific changes must be submitted to the editorial office for consideration.
