1. The Electronic Journal of Language and Education (EJLE) is an international, peer-reviewed journal published annually, except for special issues.
2. No royalties are paid for articles published in the journal, and all rights to the published articles belong to the Electronic Journal of Language and Education (EJLE). Click here to access the Copyright Transfer Form.
3. The author(s) bear full legal responsibility for the content of articles published in the Electronic Journal of Language and Education (EJLE).
4. The Electronic Journal of Language and Education (EJLE) reserves the right to request revisions to submitted manuscripts and to decide whether or not to publish them.
5. Manuscripts that are considered by the Editorial Board to lack originality or to violate ethical principles are rejected without being submitted for peer review.
6. Authors are required to submit a plagiarism/similarity report together with their manuscript. Manuscripts submitted without a plagiarism/similarity report will not be considered for evaluation.
7. Manuscripts deemed suitable by the editorial office of the journal are sent, together with an evaluation form, to at least two reviewers with expertise in the relevant subject area. Reviewers are given 30 days to complete their evaluations. If a reviewer fails to submit a report within this period, the editor may appoint a new reviewer.
Authors are required to complete revisions requested by reviewers or editors within 30 days using the relevant revision procedure. Reviewers may examine the revised version of a manuscript to determine whether the requested revisions have been adequately addressed and may request additional revisions when necessary.
Several factors are taken into consideration when selecting reviewers. These include the reviewer’s experience, area of expertise, the editor’s previous experience with the reviewer, and other relevant considerations.
The author(s) may request that certain reviewers not be assigned to evaluate their manuscript due to a potential conflict of interest.
The reviewer pool is periodically reviewed and updated by the editorial team for each issue, and the names of reviewers are presented on the journal’s masthead page.
Reviewers are provided with reviewer certificates following the publication of the issue containing the manuscript they reviewed.
8. The publication languages of the Electronic Journal of Language and Education (EJLE) are Turkish and English.
9. Manuscripts submitted to the Electronic Journal of Language and Education (EJLE) must include, at the beginning of the manuscript, Turkish and English abstracts of at least 200 words, 3–5 keywords in both Turkish and English, and the title of the manuscript in both Turkish and English.
10. Information identifying the author, such as the author’s name, academic title, institutional affiliation, and e-mail address, must not appear below the title or elsewhere in the manuscript submitted for review. Since the system administrator can identify the academic who uploads or submits the manuscript through the journal management system, this information will be added to the manuscript by the editor after the peer-review process has been completed.
Therefore, before uploading a manuscript to the system, authors must carefully check the document and ensure that it contains no information that could reveal their identity. This requirement is intended to ensure the integrity and impartiality of the peer-review process.
11. After a manuscript has been submitted, authors should wait until all reviewer reports have been received before making revisions. Once all reviewer reports are available, the authors should revise the manuscript in accordance with the reviewers’ comments and upload the revised version to the journal’s online submission system. When necessary, authors may contact the journal via its official e-mail address to request information regarding the review process.
12. Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been previously published elsewhere. Articles derived from theses or conference papers whose full texts have not been published may be considered for publication, provided that this information is clearly disclosed in the manuscript.
13. For research in any field that requires ethics committee approval, such approval must have been obtained, explicitly stated in the manuscript, and documented. This requirement has been in effect since September 30, 2023.
14. Manuscripts must be prepared and submitted strictly in accordance with the format specified below. Manuscripts that do not comply with the required format will not be considered for evaluation.
15. The Electronic Journal of Language and Education (EJLE) is committed to the principles of transparency, integrity, and academic ethics in scholarly publishing. The journal adopts the “Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing,” jointly developed by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA), and World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), and conducts its editorial processes in accordance with these principles.
The journal also follows the current guidelines and flowcharts published by COPE when addressing publication ethics disputes, research and publication misconduct, corrections, retractions, and related ethical issues.

2. If a special font is used in this case the font used should be sent together with the text.
3. The pages should not include details such as page number, header and footer.
4. The headings in the document must be bold, only the first letter of each word must be a capital, aligned with the paragraph indent, and no other formatting should be included.
5. The point of reference and punctuation should be based on the Spelling Manual of the Turkish Language Institute, except in special cases required by the article or subject.
6. APA 7 should be used as a citation system. The bibliography must be present at the end of the article.
